Plastic chairs on a sun-blasted terrace, fans doing their best, the clatter of plates and somebody's abuela-level cooking coming out of a kitchen the size of a closet. This is a locals' breakfast-and-lunch spot in Cancún's residential grid — nowhere near the hotel zone, and better for it. Portions are generous, prices are almost suspiciously cheap, and nobody's putting on a show. Get there before noon on a weekend or you'll be standing around waiting.
