Loud, crowded, and smelling like wood-fired dough and burnt butter — exactly the kind of Italian joint Paris does surprisingly well. The terrace on Boulevard Richard-Lenoir fills fast once the sun drops, and inside it's all communal energy and clattering plates. Portions are generous, prices won't make you flinch, and the truffle pizza is dangerously good. Book ahead or show up late — the no-reservation crowd at 8pm is a bloodbath.
